Rebekah took on responsibilities with her grandfather’s company YTL – a Malaysian multi-industry company famously known for luxury hotels and resorts, among other things. She currently heads and supervises the company’s cash management department and oversees company accounts, project financing, corporate governance and company secretarial matters.

She shared that she had never been pressured to join the YTL Corporation Berhad and her father never forced her. However, she had always known from a young age that she wanted to join the company.

A passionate social entrepreneur

Growing up in a business environment encouraged her to combine business and charity together. Rebekah is the founder of Nimble Fingers Cambodia – a childcare financial literacy empowerment programme that educates underprivileged Cambodian children. She is also a co-founder of Recyclothes, a concept boutique that buys and sells secondhand clothes with 100% of its proceeds channelled towards a different charity for each collection.

In 2013, she joined the Global Shapers Community Kuala Lumpur, where she monitored four projects focusing on food, transportation, safety, and literacy. Later in 2015, she was appointed as the regional ambassador for Dignity For Children Foundation.
