While many may recognize Kim Raymond for her front-row appearances at fashion shows, few may know that she is the daughter of Malaysian tycoon Dato’ Sri Jeffrey Raymond. Her father, Dato’ Sri Jeffrey Raymond, is a prominent Malaysian businessman and philanthropist.

2. His company provides seat covers and assemblies to global automobile manufacturers, such as BMW

He is the chairman and managing director of OEM Autoseats Malaysia, a specialist in seat cover manufacturing and seat assembly. His company supplies to international automobile makers, including Sime Darby Auto Bavaria Sdn. Bhd. (BMW) and Jaguar Land Rover (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Land Rover).

While her father has stepped back as CEO of OEM Autoseats Malaysia, he continues to serve as executive chairman and managing director of the company.

3. Kim Raymond is a talented and successful young mother

Kim was previously married to Malaysian actor Keith Foo, and they have a daughter named Skylar Raymond-Foo. Kim has said that she was raised in a normal household, and she admits that she’s not problematic despite being the only girl with both older and younger brothers.

While her father was busy building his empire for the family, Kim has said that her mother, Datin Sri Joyce Raymond, spent a lot of time raising her and her brothers.

4. She pursued her passion by venturing into fashion design at the Limkokwing University

She started discovering her love for fashion at a young age. However, right after completing her secondary school, her father suggested that she further her studies in computer science, a sector that was growing exponentially at the time. Unfortunately, Kim has said that it wasn’t her calling, and she decided to stop.

She finally pursued her passion by venturing into fashion design at Limkokwing University and later studied marketing and management at Raffles College to upskill herself.

Following in her father’s footsteps, Kim is not just into fashion design. She has also dabbled in a shoe collaboration with the local footwear brand Merrack & Co and opened a restaurant with her brother. Although her F&B venture closed after a while, she clarified that the experience she gained was priceless.
