The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) continues to celebrate the spirit of unity in diversity through a variety of activities, including a pre-dawn meal with firefighters, surprise visits to ministry departments for the distribution of dates, and an ihya event during the month of Ramadan leading up to Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

In line with KPKT slogan “unity in diversity,” Minister Nga Kor Ming highlighted during Raya celebration that Malaysia’s cultural diversity is one of the country’s greatest strengths.
“As in previous years, we have decorated the KPKT Lobby with a beautiful and captivating Eid Mubarak theme, creating a festive atmosphere that helps strengthen the bonds of friendship among the ministry’s staff,” he said.
“We are proud to celebrate major festivals at the ministry, such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Deepavali, and Chinese New Year, alongside our colleagues from diverse races, ethnicities, and religions,” he added.
He further emphasized that for every Malaysian, the opportunity to celebrate important festivals together in peace and harmony is a significant blessing.
“We must reject any voices that seek to divide the people, as unity is the foundation of stability and progress in our country,” he asserted.

Earlier, YB Nga Kor Ming made a surprise visit to distribute dates to KPKT staff, engaging with them in a friendly and personal manner.
He also hosted a pre-dawn meal session with fire and rescue personnel in Kuala Lumpur as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated service in ensuring public safety.
In preparation for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the Fire and Rescue Department has frozen leave for 70 percent of its personnel during the festive season to enhance operational readiness and ensure public safety through Ops Siaga Raya.
At the same time, KPKT has stepped up initiatives such as collaborating with the private sector to upgrade public toilets at Rest and Relax (R&R) areas. This initiative aims to provide the public with clean and comfortable facilities during their journey home to celebrate the festive season.
